Corageous Kidz
Courageous Kidz is a state-chartered nonprofit organization that provides a safe haven for kids with cancer and support for the entire family. We provide support wherever it is most needed in the child's life - during treatment and after treatment. We also counsel and assist families who have lost the battle with cancer.
Our main focus at present is providing support activities and events to help all affected by this terrible disease. Our children and family activities include Dayz of Magic, Generation CK, Fun-tastic Family Reunion, Thanksgiving Bountiful Feast, Holiday Fun-union, Cookie-Rama, Healing Hearts Moms Weekend, and Myrtle Beach Escape.
In more than 35 states in the U.S., and also in Australia and Canada, there are "cancer kid camps" bringing hope and happiness to many cancer-stricken children. These camps allow children and families to escape from the trauma of hospital stays and aggressive medical treatments. We hope to provide such a camp in the future.
Medical Involvement and SupportCourageous Kidz strives to strengthen the minds and bodies of children with cancer by providing an escape from the stress and pain associated with their treatments. Our efforts are supplemental to the medically prescribed treatment protocols, and all our children's activities are monitored by volunteers from the medical community. Courageous Kidz works in partnership with the medical experts to provide support to those with childhood cancer in a safe and secure environment.
Our Mission
Courageous Kidz provides a safe haven for children with cancer, and lends support to the families who must deal with the trauma, pain, stress, and anxieties associated with life-threatening illness and difficult medical treatments. Our goal is to give children hope in an environment of their peers undergoing similar difficult challenges. Our main focus is on the children themselves, but we also support the family by providing information, education, and encouragement. The theme of providing hope and striving toward "a brighter tomorrow for children with cancer" are not just words to Courageous Kidz. It is the main purpose of our existence. For those not fortunate enough to have a solid family structure, Courageous Kidz events offer as much help and support as desired by the families. For families who have lost their battle with cancer, Courageous Kidz provides counseling and support.
