Ashley River Fire Department (ARFD)The Ashley River Fire District was established in 1979 to provide fire coverage to lower Dorchester Co. District boundaries ran from the Charleston Co. line on both Dorchester and Ashley Phosphate Roads up to Kings Grant and into what is currently Wescott Plantation. As a Combination Department, our personnel include F/T, P/T and Volunteer suppression and support personnel.
We also respond to other public health, safety and welfare conditions that threaten our community and a wide variety of public requests for assistance.
